Company Information
We are a family owned company who, since 1962,
have provided confidential engineering services
to a variety of industries including the
demanding Aerospace and Automotive markets.
The founder of the company designed and built
the original Benco engine stand which has now
evolved into an extensive range after listening
to the varied needs of managers and engineers.
This long term experience has enabled us to
produce rugged, cost effective stands that make
engine manufacturing and repair faster, easier
and much safer.
These products combine ease of operation with
complete safety of load manipulation, while
providing maximum access to supported workpieces
for production assembly projects as well as
general service and repair operations. The
original engine stand design was easily modified
to accommodate other power train products
including gearboxes and transmissions, and over
time has also been successfully adapted for a
varied range of other industrial workpieces
including aero wing assemblies, excavator
buckets, oil exploration drill bits, precious
metal ingot moulds, sailing craft,
pre-fabricated buildings and many other
applications too diverse to list in full.
The Benco product range has been developed
considerably over the years and now enjoys a
worldwide reputation for the ease, simplicity
and safety offered for the rotational handling
of heavy, out-of-balance loads with the added
benefit of backlash-free movement. The
convenience and accessibility provided by our
equipment ensures maximum production efficiency,
while the ease of movement and safety when
handling heavy loads also complies with the
highest level of regulations covering industrial
working practices.
Benco engine stands are widely used in the UK
and throughout the world by engine manufacturers
including:- Cosworth, Cummins, Daimler-Chrysler,
Ford, Ilmor, Jaguar, Komatsu, Lister Petter,
MAN, and Perkins.
Our engine stands, welding positioners,
gearboxes and other load manipulators are also
used by such diverse companies as: -Aggreko,
British Aerospace, Castrol, Federal Mogul,
Lubrizol, Ricardo Consulting, Short Bros, Voith
and ZF Gearboxes.
In 1999 the well respected company J.A.P.
(Northampton) Ltd was incorporated with The
Brixworth Engineering Co Ltd to dramatically
enhance our sub-contract machining services.
